TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) – – A total of 10 micro, medium, and small enterprises (MSMEs) from the Cagayan Valley region participated in Propak Asia 2024, held at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC Hall), Bangkok, Thailand, from June 12 to 15.
ProPak Asia is Asia’s biggest trade fair for process and packaging technology, which converges entrepreneurs, innovators, professionals, experts, enablers, and other stakeholders to converge for a full spectrum of interaction on materials and machine technology sourcing, product and financial consultancy, emerging market trends, insights, and forging valuable new partnerships.
The 2024 edition brought together over 2,000 exhibiting companies from over 45 countries and brands and over 60,000 attendees from more than 75 countries under the theme: Sustainably Empowering Processing and Packaging Success with Ideation, Innovation, and Investment.
Among the MSMEs in the region that attended the trade fair are the Flow of Pariir Cooperative and LGU Cabatuan, which showcased the MungBean Noodles and Instant Ginisang Munggo; and the Indigenous Enabel Craft from Quezon, Isabela, a weaving community that promotes modern weaving patterns and designs inspired by a variety of thread colors.
Three MSMEs from Qurino participated, namely: DISADECO; the Quirino State University with its Banana Making Shared Services Facility; and Q-LIFE, which offers processing of meat, fruits, vegetables, bread, noodles, and other products that can be made for local consumption in the said province.
Other exhibitors were: LSB Restaurant and Special Buko Pie and Mushroom Creations Y Cel Mushroom Farm, both from Nueva Vizcaya; Solivenian Agriculture Business Association (S.A.B.A.); and Kape Ilokano Cafe Corporation from Isabela.
DTI Acting Regional Director Winston Singun said that through the trade fair, the MSMEs got an update on industry insight on sustainable ways of production and processing and witnessed the finest showcase of the latest technology and innovations. (OTB/ MDCT/PIA Cagayan)
