CagVal gov’t agencies, partners sign solidarity pact for peaceful 2025 elections

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) – – The Police Regional Office 2 (PRO2), in partnership with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), spearheaded the signing of a Solidarity Pact for the 2025 National and Local Elections (NLE) in Cagayan Valley recently at the PRO2 Grandstand, Camp Marcelo A. Adduru, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

PBGen Antonio P. Marallag, Jr., said the initiative aims to foster collaboration among key government agencies, uniformed services, and civil society groups to ensure secure, accurate, free, and fair elections.

Attendees included representatives from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine Coast Guard, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Education, Philippine Information Agency, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency, Department of Information and Communications Technology, non-government organizations (NGOs), and faith-based leaders.

The event underscored a unified commitment to upholding democracy and maintaining peace and order throughout the electoral process.

By signing the Solidarity Pact, stakeholders pledged to reject all forms of violence, hate, and misinformation, safeguard voters’ rights, and promote unity and civic responsibility for an orderly election.

“As we stand together from different sectors and communities, we reaffirm our shared objective of a peaceful, just, and democratic Philippines. We are committed to making the 2025 elections a true reflection of our democratic values and national unity,” said COMELEC Regional Director Ederlino U. Tabilas. 

The Solidarity Pact Signing marks a significant step in strengthening electoral integrity and reinforcing the collective responsibility of various agencies and organizations in upholding democratic principles. (ALM/PIA Region 2)
