Calapan LGU distributes relief supplies from DSWD

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) – The city government of Calapan distributed recently relief supplies from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to nine barangays that are currently affected by the oil spill.

The distribution was headed by City Social Welfare Officer Juvy L. Bahia to 1,211 family beneficiaries whose source of livelihood is fishing, which is still banned by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources.

The recipient barangays are as follows: Balite, 130; Baruyan, 431; Canubing I, 211; Mahal na Pangalan, 104; Masipit, 14; Pachoca, 53; Tawagan, 136; Tibag, 35; and Wawa, 87.

Relief supplies contained five kilos of rice, five corned tuna, five canned sardines, five pieces of coffee, and five pieces of Energen Champion.

Officials of the City Chief of Staff Joseph Umali, City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer Dennis Escosora, city government employees, and  barangay officials assisted   in the distribution.  (LTC/PIA Mimaropa-OrMin)
