MANILA, (PIA) — In a heartwarming display of generosity and commitment to community welfare, the Caloocan City Government has received a substantial grant of P13 million from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO). This contribution, derived from PCSO’s lotto revenues for July 2022, marks a significant stride in bolstering the city’s vital charity and health programs.

This signifies our support for PCSO’s gaming products, as they assist us through the Lotto and STL shares we receive),” Mayor Malapitan said.

Underlining the collaborative spirit between the PCSO and local government units, this financial assistance underscores the PCSO’s dedication to fulfilling its mission of uplifting communities.

The PCSO, in adherence to its statutory obligations, designates 30 percent of its revenues for charitable endeavors, 55 percent for prize distribution, and allocates 15 percent to support its operations. The unutilized balance of these funds seamlessly integrates into the overarching charity fund.

A simple ceremony on September 14, 2023, at the PCSO main office in Mandaluyong City, saw PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles personally presenting the generous grant to Caloocan Mayor Dale “Along” Malapitan.

During the event, Mayor Malapitan expressed his profound gratitude and articulated his commitment to judiciously employ the funds for the greater good of Caloocan residents.

In his address, General Manager Robles extended his heartfelt appreciation to all lotto patrons and individuals participating in PCSO games. He called upon the public to continue their patronage of PCSO games, emphasizing the importance of their contributions in generating additional resources for essential health programs, medical aid, services, and philanthropic initiatives.

By fulfilling its mandatory commitments to beneficiaries, the PCSO extends its sphere of influence beyond individuals in need of medical assistance, extending a helping hand to government institutions as well.

This harmonious partnership between Caloocan City and the PCSO underscores the power of collaboration in driving positive change within communities. As both entities remain dedicated to their respective missions, the citizens of Caloocan can anticipate an even brighter future, characterized by enhanced healthcare services and an ever-expanding network of charitable endeavors. (PIA-NCR)
