MANILA, (PIA) — The City Government of Caloocan has partnered with the popular mobile wallet application GCash to facilitate the online disbursement of cash subsidies for qualified solo parents in the city, enhancing the efficiency of its services.
This initiative aligns with previous digitalization efforts under City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan.
The city has already launched an online payment platform for business and real property taxes, as well as for fees related to the University of Caloocan City, and has implemented an online application process for business permits, including the issuance of electronic official receipts.
Mayor Along expressed gratitude to GCash for its role in enabling the swift delivery of financial aid through the city’s social development program.
“Thanks to the collaboration between the city government and GCash, we can ensure that solo parents in the city will receive the financial assistance we offer them quickly,” he said.
The mayor highlighted the convenience of integrating technology into his administration’s programs, noting plans to partner with additional digital payment platforms.
“Our younger residents will greatly benefit from our focus on digitalizing our services. We can quickly disseminate programs to our citizens, reduce queues, and minimize the need for individuals to leave their homes to feel the action and care of the city government,” Mayor Along added.
He emphasized ongoing efforts to enhance projects for vulnerable sectors and stated that the city is in talks with other online platforms to ensure that residents receive their benefits smoothly and without hassle. (JCO/PIA-NCR)
