Cam Sur PDRRMC in close watch over 54K affected families in TD AmangPH aftermath

Naga City (PIA) – The Provincial Government of Camarines Sur through its Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) continues to keep watch over 54,289 families or 202,176 individuals who were affected by the recent tropical cyclone “Amang”which hit the province from April 11 to 13.

In its latest report on Friday, April 14, the PDRRMC Emergency Operations Center is still on red alert status. This is to facilitate close monitoring of situations and incidents brought by the weather disturbance.

Of 173 flooded barangays in the province, 105 areas have water level at least subsided,  while floodwater in 68 other areas  already receded.

About 13 incidents of landslides were reported, with no incurred casualties.

From nine unpassable local roads and 23 spillways, only one road is left for clearing operation as it is still not yet passable for light vehicles as of press writing.

The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council stated in its report the  timely responses and measures taken before the typhoon entered the province. The council also issued mitigation activities, advisories, and deployed teams to areas susceptible to the typhoon’s impact.

As of press time, PDRRMC has already lifted the suspension of work and classes.

As of Friday, response teams and resources are still on standby at the EOC, and ready for deployment.

The Department of Public Works and High Ways and DDRRM teams have prepared its emergency response team for immediate need of maintenance and cleaning ops.

Personnel from the Land Transportation Office and the Department of Social Welfare and Development, together with local government units continued its relief assistance to stranded travelers at the Del Gallego border flood affected families in Pamplona, San Fernando, and Milaor.
