MANILA, (PIA) — The Malabon City Police Station (MCPS) has honored Ismael “Ka Maeng” G. Santos, President of the CAMANAVA (Caloocan-Malabon-Navotas-Valenzuela) Press Corps, for his unwavering dedication to journalism and his role in sharing news about the police’s operations and successes against crime, particularly in the campaign against illegal drugs.
The recognition was presented by Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval during the local government’s flag ceremony held in the lobby of City Hall Monday, March 31.
For over 32 years, Ka Maeng has been instrumental in promoting order and peace in Malabon through his reporting. Currently, he is a reporter of newspaper Bulgar.
“This acknowledgment reflects the vital role of the media in our fight against crime and in maintaining the safety of our community,” a representative from MCPS said during the ceremony.
The event celebrated not only the contributions of Ka Maeng but also the ongoing partnership between law enforcement and the media in fostering a safer environment for residents.
It can be recalled that the CAMANAVA Press Corps reports legitimate news and events in the cities of Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, and Valenzuela. It is the longest-standing and most established organization of journalists in this area, dedicated for decades to gathering and delivering accurate and truthful news in the northern part of Metro Manila.
