CAMIGUIN (PIA) — Providing affordable rice to Camiguin families, Gov. Xavier Jesus Romualdo announced the start of the registration for the Ayuda Para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP) Rice Subsidy Program in Mambajao on November 26.
“Kini nga programa nagtinguha nga matabangan ang mga Camiguinon pinaagi sa paghatag og mas barato nga bugas, aron matubag ang mga panginahanglanon sa pagkaon ug mapaubsan ang gasto sa pangadlaw-adlaw nga panginabuhi,” said Romualdo.
(This program aims to assist Camiguinons by providing more affordable rice to meet their food needs and reduce the cost of daily living.)

He added that the initiative is not just a program but a commitment to supporting families in the province, especially during challenging times, by ensuring food security for every household.
To ensure the program’s smooth and efficient rollout, the provincial government has begun conducting information campaigns and training sessions for municipal managers. These initiatives aim to improve comprehension of the program and its effective execution throughout the province.

“Ang AKAP Rice Subsidy dili lamang usa ka programa apan usa ka paningkamot aron kanunay natong mahatagan ug suporta ang mga pamilya diri sa atong probinsya sa panahon sa kalisod, pinaagi sa pagpasiugda sa kalig-on sa pagkaon alang sa matag Camiguinon,” the governor said.
(The AKAP Rice Subsidy is not just a program but an effort to continuously provide support to families in our province during times of hardship by promoting food security for every Camiguinon.)
With the groundwork now in place, Romualdo said Camiguin families can look forward to more affordable rice soon, bringing much-needed relief and stability to households across the island. (RTP/PIA-10/Camiguin)
