Camiguin tourism frontliners undergo hospitality training

CAMIGUIN (PIA) — Camiguin’s tourism frontliners are leveling up their hospitality skills as the Department of Tourism (DOT)-10 intensifies efforts to uphold world-class service standards in Northern Mindanao, March 6-7.

“The FBSE training aims to equip tourism stakeholders with the proper skills in customer service, emphasizing the distinct warmth, hospitality, and professionalism that define Filipino hospitality. By upholding global service standards, DOT-10 ensures that the region’s tourism workforce is at par with the best in the world,” DOT-10 Regional Director Marie Elaine Unchuan said.

The training sessions were conducted by FBSE Regional Trainer Maria Reina Bontuyan in collaboration with the provincial government of Camiguin. The initiative aimed to equip tourism workers with the necessary skills to meet global service expectations while showcasing the unique charm of Filipino hospitality.

The FBSE program is a flagship initiative of DOT-10’s Accreditation and Training Division, designed to strengthen the capabilities of tourism personnel across the region. By focusing on service excellence, DOT-10 ensures that Northern Mindanao remains competitive in the global tourism landscape.

“Through continuous capacity-building initiatives like FBSE, DOT-10 reinforces its dedication to raising service excellence in Northern Mindanao, ensuring that every visitor experiences the best of Filipino hospitality,” Unchuan said. (DOT-10/PIA-10/Camiguin)
