MAMBAJAO, Camiguin (PIA) — Strengthening Mambajao’s fire response capabilities, the Camiguin Water Company (CWC) installed a new fire hydrant in Barangay Tupsan on September 1.
This initiative was a prominent feature of the opening activities for the week-long 169th Mambajao Devotional Town Fiesta celebration, highlighting the community’s commitment to improving safety and emergency preparedness.
The local government of Mambajao expressed its deep gratitude to the Camiguin Water Company for their unwavering support in this critical project. The new hydrant is expected to significantly improve the town’s capacity to respond promptly and efficiently to fire emergencies, offering a crucial resource for saving lives and safeguarding properties.
Jonathan Sarsonas, general manager of CWC, reaffirmed the company’s dedication to the safety and progress of the province. “On behalf of Camiguin Water Company, we are committed to supporting the progress of Camiguin Province, especially for its residents, by strengthening community safety and emergency response capabilities. We believe this contribution will advance our shared goal of improving public safety and preparedness,” said Sarsonas.
He hopes the project will demonstrate the municipality and company’s commitment to protecting the community, its assets, and their shared values.
Mayor Yñigo Jesus Romualdo of LGU Mambajao highlighted the impact of the newly installed fire hydrant on local fire response operations.
(The new fire hydrant in Barangay Tupsan is a huge help. It speeds up the response time of fire trucks and the refilling process during fire emergencies. The whole barangay will benefit from this since it is the first fire hydrant installed in Barangay Tupsan, and it is strategically placed at the center of the barangay.)
Rep. Jurdin Jesus Romualdo and other local officials graced the event, which aimed to demonstrate a strong commitment to public safety and community resilience. Romualdo stated that as Mambajao continues to develop, initiatives like these ensure that the town is better equipped to handle emergencies, reflecting the shared dedication to protecting the well-being and security of its residents.
For his part, Sarsonas looks forward to further collaborative efforts to support the continuous progress of Mambajao and all of Camiguin. (RTP/PIA-10/Camiguin)
