CAMIGUIN (PIA) — Residents across Camiguin are celebrating a new era of reliable and equitable water services, thanks to the transformative efforts of Camiguin Water Company (CWC). Since taking over operations, CWC has improved water accessibility, ensuring consistent supply even in the most remote areas, and implementing fair pricing based on actual consumption.

Voices of gratitude

Residents from various municipalities have expressed their appreciation for the positive changes brought by Camiguin Water.

Evelyn Obedencio, a housewife from Bacnit, Sagay, shared, “Before, we didn’t have enough water supply while others did, but now it’s fair for everyone. Also, the workers of Camiguin Water are very efficient because they constantly monitor the water lines.”

For his part, James Bailo, an employee from the same area, added, “We are very thankful to Camiguin Water because we now have a reliable water supply. Before, we had no water, especially during the dry season. Now, we can rely on it.”

Highlighting the company’s reliability, Teresita Escabarte from Alga, Catarman, said in vernacular that the water pressure is strong, and it doesn’t run out, especially when there are no repairs.

“Our bill is fair, and we’re very happy with the consistent and reliable service,” she added.

Improved quality and efficiency

Beyond ensuring consistent supply, CWC has prioritized addressing leaks, illegal connections, and outdated infrastructure. This commitment has resulted in a more sustainable water system for the province.

Community members like Pretty Lucy May Galon, a teacher from Alangilan, noted that CWC not only resolves issues quickly but also educates residents on water conservation. “We now save water by reusing it for plants and gardens, and the benefits of CWC’s service are evident in our community,” she said.

CWC General Manager Jonathan Sarsonas said the transformation of Camiguin’s water systems reflects their dedication to delivering clean, safe, and sustainable water for all residents. Their proactive approach, including swift response to customer concerns and regular monitoring, has set a new standard for water service in the region.

As Camiguin faces the challenges of a growing population and aging infrastructure, Sarsonas said CWC remains committed to its mission: to ensure that every household has access to water that is not only reliable but also affordable.
