SYUDAD SANG ILOILO (PIA) – Daku ang papel kag ikasarang sang mga campus journalist sa Kabisay-an Nakatungdan para sa pagtuga sang pagbag-o sa sosyudad pinaagi sa ila mga ideya kag nahibal-an nga sarang man makahatag sang ginalauman nga kauswagan sang komunidad.
Ini ang ginpatpat ni Philippine Information Agency (PIA)-6 head EnP. Cheryl B. Amor sa ginhiwat nga ika-48 nga PIA-6 College Press Conference (COPRE) sang Nobyembre 28, 2024 sa Iloilo Grand Hotel, kung sa diin gintambungan sang 846 ka campus journalists halin sa 89 ka campus publications sa rehiyon.
“As communicators, it is important that you observe these values because your pen holds power to create change and spark ideas that are vital in social development. More than becoming the channel between the students and the administration, your vast knowledge on social issues become the guiding light to the people in your community, which encouraged them to take action, to be inspired, and to aim for progress,” pahayag ni Amor.
Nagalaum man siya nga pinaagi sa COPRE, mas mangin responsible ang mga campus journalist kag ila hatagan importansya ang “values of integrity, justice, as well as passion to deliver accurate, relevant, and timely information to your respective student body.”
Naangut sa tema nga, “Bagong Pilipinas: New Breed of Developmental Communicators,” ang kahiwatan nagpakita sang importante nga papel sang mga campus journalist sa pagpasanyog sang kamatuoran, kinaalam sang mga pumuluyo pinaagi sa mga sakto nga impormasyon; kag transformative storytelling.
Ang isa ka adlaw nga kahiwatan ginlakipan sang paindis-indis sa pagsulat (News, Feature, Sports, Editorial, Column, Editorial Cartooning, Photojournalism, Copyreading), kag pagkilala sa outstanding publication advisers sa rehiyon kag; publication works (Magazine, Literary Folio, Newsletter, Wall Newspaper, Tabloid, Departmental Paper, Online Newsletter, Facebook page) sang mga campus journalist.
Sa pihak nga bahin, naghatag kalingaw sa programa ang ginhiwat nga Mr. and Miss COPRE kung sa diin, magluwas sa pagsulat, ginpakita naman sang mga campus journalist ang ila abilidad sa entablado.
Ginpahayag ni Amor nga ang kadalag-an nga naangkun sang mga campus journalist sa programa ang nagarepresentar, indi lang sang ila abilidad sa pagsulat, kundi ang ila ikasarang para makatuga sang pagbag-o sa sosyudad.
“Remember that your awards today will not just represent your success in Journalism, but rather exemplify your unrivalled powers as instruments or catalysts of change. More than the medals and trophies that you will be receiving today, please remember, the most significant take away that through your pens, you are all capable of making change,” pahayag sini.
