ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) — Local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and development partners of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in the province bagged various awards during the five-day Panubli-on Trade Fair from Nov. 13 to 17, at the SM City Iloilo.
Thirteen exhibitors from the province joined the event showcasing local crafts, food, and innovative products of Capiz.
According to DTI Region 6, Panubli-on 2024 which is the agency’s annual regional marketing activity, exhibits the heritage of the local industries in Western Visayas. It further preserves the timeless craftsmanship of MSMEs and encourages continuous innovation.
The Capiz State University (CapSU) CAPSULE Technology Business Incubator (TBI) was awarded the Presidential Recognition for Outstanding Development Partners at the provincial and regional levels in the pillar of Innovation and Technology and its vital role in nurturing the Capisnon entrepreneurs.
CapSU Public Information Office said on their Facebook post that the recognition given by the DTI is proof of the CAPSULE TBI’s unwavering commitment to fostering innovation and excellence in entrepreneurship.
“The TBI has been offering hands-on guidance to its incubates and enabling emerging Capisnon entrepreneurs to achieve excellence in product development and market readiness,” the PIO noted.
In addition to CapSU, Pueblo de Panay Inc. also received the same recognition from the DTI Region 6 in the pillar of Improving Business Climate.
Moreover, various local MSMEs in the province were also recognized during the regional trade fair.
The Panayanon Handicrafts earned first place for the Best Product Design for the non-food category, Cyle’s Food Products got second place for the Best Product Innovation for the food category, also tied in second place are the Ebangz Mushroom Products and Nanay Patring’s Recipe for the Best Product Collection for the food category.
The Kapiz Upcycle secured third place for Best Product Collection in the non-food category, and the RJC-MD Wood Carving and Manufacturing also won third place for Best Production Innovation in the non-food category.
Further, two local MSMEs also received special citations during the awarding ceremony.
The Capiz Chocolate Producers Cooperative won the 2024 Capiz MSME of the Year, while the My Souvenir Shop was awarded as the 2024 Capiz Heritage. (AGP/PLF/PIA Capiz)
