ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) — Military officials recently called on the youth to enrich their spiritual values by “opening their hearts to Christ” for them to become better individuals full of love for God and country.
Brigadier General Leonardo Peña, deputy division commander of the 3rd Infantry Division, made the statement as he addressed the participants of a two-day youth summit held at Camp General Macario B. Peralta Jr. in Jamindan town.

A total of 35 youth leaders from the Lucero Savings Group (LSG) joined the summit through the Capiz Transformation Movement.
“Your presence will deepen the camaraderie of the churches of Christ, and together, we can open our hearts to the blessings that He has in store for us,” Peña said in his address.
Peña also thanked the organizers for selecting 3ID as the location for their youth camp.
The two-day camp aims to provide educational training and seminars to youth, especially those who are part of the Indigenous Peoples (IP) community and need support for a better life through the words and teachings of Jesus.
The Capiz Transformation Movement, through its Interim Executive Director Jee Ann B. Bolina, spearheaded the event themed “Transformed Heart, Transformed Life,” aiming to help the children of their member-parents experience Jesus.
The 3ID, for their part, gave a talk about how young people are recruited by Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs) and how they infiltrate these groups.
In addition, the participants got to ride in military vehicles and use the camp’s amenities.
The 3ID, together with its stakeholders, seeks to assist and educate the next generation of citizens. This sort of activity is welcomed and supported by the 3ID because it acknowledges the critical role of youth in nation-building. (AGP/PLF/PIA Capiz)
