Cavite gov’t brings free medical services to communities

TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite (PIA) — Around 300 individuals benefited from free medical and dental services during the recent medical mission organized by the Cavite provincial government in Brgy. Navarro, City of General Trias.

According to the Cavite Provincial Information Office, 196 individuals received free medical consultations, while 107 people took advantage of dental check-ups and tooth extractions.

The event was made possible through the efforts of medical professionals from the General Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital (GEAMH) and the Office of the Provincial Health Officer, along with the support of the Cavite Dental Chapter, ensuring quality services for the community.

In addition to consultations, the medical team distributed free prescribed medications and multivitamins to the residents.

The Cavite PIO added that the collaborative effort underscores the provincial government’s commitment to providing accessible healthcare services and promoting a healthier community.

Meanwhile, in observance of World Tuberculosis Day, Barangay Tua in Magallanes served as the latest venue for the Department of Health’s (DOH) PuroKalusugan services. This community-based initiative aims to deliver essential healthcare directly to underserved areas, ensuring that everyone has access to quality medical care.

A total of 137 residents benefited from various services offered by the PuroKalusugan initiative, such as chest X-ray screenings, HIV testing and counseling, and prenatal check-ups.

The initiative also focused on rabies prevention, providing anti-rabies vaccinations for pets and offering an educational Rabies Awareness Lecture to inform pet owners about responsible care and disease prevention. (RBF/R. Tanael)
