CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — A total of 126,684 new business name registrations (BNRs) were filed in Central Luzon in 2024.
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Regional Director Edna Dizon said that the consistent rise in business registrations reflects the resilience of the region’s business community despite economic challenges, and the important role of the agency’s support programs such as the Negosyo Centers, entrepreneurial training and financing assistance, in fostering this growth.
“We are thrilled to see such a positive response from our entrepreneurs. This surge in business name registrations is a testament to the hard work and determination of our micro, small and medium enterprises MSMEs) that are the backbone of our regional economy,” she said.
The number of new business registrations in 2024 is 12.19 percent higher than the total in 2023 at 112,916 BNRs.
Of the total BNRs tallied last year, Bulacan registered the greatest number of business names with 44,985. This was followed by Pampanga with 29,165 registrations; Nueva Ecija 18,149; Tarlac 12,959; Zambales 10,248; Bataan 8,622; and Aurora 2,557.
In terms of the percent increase, Bulacan registered the highest rate with 27.2 percent; followed by Aurora with 15.7 percent; Pampanga 6.7 percent; Zambales 6.6 percent; Tarlac 6.4 percent; Bataan 4.8 percent; and Nueva Ecija 0.8 percent.
Dizon assured the MDMEs that DTI Central Luzon remains committed to creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive by partnering with local government units, private organizations, and other stakeholders to promote innovation, inclusivity, and sustainability among entrepreneurs.
“Our goal is to inspire more individuals to embark on their entrepreneurial journey while strengthening the competitiveness of existing businesses in the region,” she added.
The official also urged entrepreneurs to register their businesses by going to the DTI Regional Office, Provincial Offices, and the Negosyo Centers across the region.
For convenience, she said, entrepreneurs may opt to use DTI’s online facility which can be accessed through https://bnrs.dti.gov.ph.
Payment of BNR can also be done online through GCash, Paymaya, LandBank’s LinkBizPortal for those with LandBank accounts, and through credit or debit cards; or over-the-counter through 7-11 and Bayad Centers.
