QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), through its NCR-Provincial Statistical Office (PSO) II, officially launched the “Rehistro Bulilit” campaign that aims to register children aged 1 to 4 years for the National ID system, during an event held at the Barangay Socorro Hall, in this city, recently.
PSA Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa outlined the campaign’s dual objectives: to increase the number of registered Filipino children and to ensure ongoing mass registration at the community level, ultimately striving for universal registration in the National ID system.
“The registration of children ages 1-4 years old in the National ID is part of our commitment to making the National ID inclusive,” Mapa said.
“We will continue to create venues for National ID registration such as Rehistro Bulilit with the support of local government units and other stakeholders.”

How to register your child for the PSA National ID in your community
Parents or guardians are required to accompany their children during the registration process, presenting necessary documents that include the child’s full name, date and place of birth, and the names of the parents. The registration process involves collecting demographic information and a front-facing photograph of the child, while biometric authentication is performed by scanning the details of the accompanying guardian.
At the age of 5, children will have their biometric information captured, including an updated photograph, iris scan, and fingerprints.
To ensure a friendly environment for the children, the Rehistro Bulilit event featured colorful balloons, tokens, and engaging video clips.
During the registration period, a total of 52 children aged 1 to 4 were successfully registered, and one child received his printed paper-based electronic Philippine ID (ePhilID) while checking the availability of the Digital National ID on the official website.
Additionally, 23 individuals aged 5 and older were registered during the event.
As of June 28, 2024, a total of 45,687,852 printed ePhilIDs and 55,311,590 National ID cards have been distributed to 88,429,175 Filipinos who have successfully registered for the National ID system.
The Rehistro Bulilit campaign reflects the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance accessibility and inclusivity in the National ID registration process.
Signed into law in August 2018, the National ID aims to establish a single ID for all Filipinos and resident aliens. It will also help ease transactions both with government and private sector through easier validation and authentication of identity. (JVD/PIA-NCR)
