TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) – – The Ambassador of China to the Philippines Huang Xilian visited this city recently for possible investment collaboration with local business owners.
The ambassador met with Tuguegarao City Mayor Maila Ting-Que in Cagayan’s capital city and briefly discussed a proposal to match Chinese entrepreneurs with local counterparts to create partnerships that will benefit both China and Tuguegarao City’s business sectors.
According to Mayor Ting-Que, the ambassador also floated the possibility of inviting Chinese investors to the city.
“We discussed potential partnerships that may lead to the mutual benefit of both the People’s Republic of China and the City of Tuguegarao,” the Mayor said.

Ambassador Huang’s meeting with Mayor Ting-Que is part of his three-day casual tour in Cagayan province. With him also are other officials and representatives from the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines.
Earlier this year, Mayor Ting-Que and other city officials paid a visit to Guangxi Region in China during the China-ASEAN Mercantile Exchange (CAMEX) in order to build trade relations and establish business exchanges with China.
During the CAMEX, which was held in Nanning, capital of Guangxi, last September, Mayor Ting-Que presented the city government’s investment priority agenda to various business groups in China.
The city government’s diplomatic endeavors coincide with the provincial administration’s current thrust to improve trade relations with countries north of the Philippines, given Cagayan’s proximity to these nations. (OTB/JKC/PIA-2)
