OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA)– Moments of shared joy filled residents in Ozamiz City with full smiles as they received 3-in-1 Christmas gift packages from the local government unit in its expanded annual “Pamaskong Handog 2023” gift-giving program distribution.
Working officials, including Governor Henry Oaminal, Second District Representative Sancho Fernando “Ando” Oaminal, and Ozamiz Mayor Henry “Indy” Oaminal Jr., have expanded their annual provision of the “Pamaskong Handog 2023” program.
In delivering the 3-in-1 Christmas gifts, where the three officials combined resources, Mayor Indy Oaminal renewed his commitment to continue providing basic services to his constituents by adhering to the provincial government’s vision under the Asenso administration.
“Karong adlawa matagamtaman ninyo og usab ang usa sa mga flagship nga mga programa sa team Asenso ug dinhi sa Ozamiz nga kini ang 3-in-1 nga Pamaskong Handog,” he said.
Mayor Oaminal said he is committed to the continued pursuit of infrastructure development as well as basic social services such as free hospitalization, free funeral services, scholarships, and others.
“Kani tanan nga mga programa, proyekto ug mga serbisyo posible lang gyud kini kung kitang tanan magkahiusa sama sa nabuhat ni governor, vice governor, ug mga provincial board members sa province, ug kami ni Vice Mayor, ug ang inyohang mga city councilors nga hardworking pud kaayo dinhi sa atong syudad [Kani tanan nga mga programa, proyekto ug mga serbisyo posible lang gyud kini kung kitang tanan magkahiusa sama sa nabuhat ni governor, vice governor, ug mga provincial board members sa province, ug kami ni Vice Mayor, ug ang inyohang mga city councilors nga hardworking pud kaayo dinhi sa atong syudad],’’ he added.
Oaminal then urged Ozamiznons to continue supporting the Asenso administration in the effective pushing of the 5Ms (Misamisnon Magpuyong Malinawon, Malambuon, ug Malipayon) program.
Delivered by Ozamiz City SK Federated President John Fel Duhaylungsod, Gov. Oaminal said the annual tradition of Pamaskong Handog is primarily aimed at spreading happiness and love to his constituents in the spirit of Christmas.
“Usa kini ka kalihokan diin niing panahon sa pasko atong mapaabot ug mapabati sa katawhan ang tinuod nga kahulogan sa pasko nga mao ang paghigugmaay ug paghinatagay pinaagi niini atong ipaambit ang mga grasya ug panalangin nga atong nakab-ot tungod sa atong partnership and collaboration sa maayong pang gobyerno alang sa pag-asenso sa atong probinsya [This is one activity wherein this time of year during Christmas we provide and make people feel the true meaning of Christmas which is really about loving each other and gift giving through these blessings and prayer that we have reached because of our partnership and collaboration in good governance for the progress of our province],’’ he said.
On behalf of his community, Barangay Captain Jhonnel Poncardas, Cogon, Ozamiz City, expressed his gratitude to the Asenso administration.
“Sa makanunayon mag-uban gyud ta, magtinabangay labi na karon sa atong mga proyekto nga nadawat sama sa barangay health station, barangay hall, basketball court, ug uban pa [Always we will go together side by side, helping each other, especially in our projects, such as the barangay health station, barangay hall, basketball court, and others],” he said.
The local government has so far distributed gift packs to a total of 12,810 households from Barangay Cogon 373, Gala 268, Trigos 182, Litapan 42, Gango 1,580, Pantaon 355, Tabid 977, Dimaluna 661, Malaubang 1,929, Sangay Daku 220, Bacolod 557, Aguada 1,940, Calabayan 868, Labinay 44, Sinuza 41, Bongbong 638, Bañadero 1,701, Embargo 277, and Gotokan Daku 157.
