City budget awaits DBM guidelines to release employees’ SRI, gratuity pay

PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan (PIA) — The City Budget Office awaits guidelines from the Department of Budget Management (DBM) to disburse the Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) to qualified regular employees and eligible contractual employees.

City Budget Officer Regina Cantillo said Monday that each qualified regular employee of Puerto Princesa City government including co-terminus will receive P20,000. Employees must be in service until November 30 with aggregate of at least four months.

The office will also release P5,000 gratuity pay for the eligible job order and contract of service workers.

“At least may satisfactory performance rating— pagdating sa funding ay LGU fund. It depends on the availability of funds,” she said.

It will be funded from the fiscal year 2023 savings in personal services of the offices.

In 2022, each regular employee received P10,000 SRI as fund disbursed depends on the savings of the LGU.

Cantillo said that 1,003 regular employees will receive P20,000 each for this year. The city government has an average of around 3,000 job order employees but not all of them are eligible to receive gratuity pay.

The office observed a higher number of recipients this year compared to 2022 due to retirees.

“Yong hiniling namin sa Sanggunian na pagkukunan ng SRI ay ‘yong savings sa bakanteng posisyon na hindi na-fill up’n. Pagdating sa gratuity pay ay savings ng bawat programa,” she said. (RG/PIA Mimaropa – Palawan)
