QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — Nearly 70,000 employment opportunities are available today as the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) hosts a nationwide job fair as part of the “Handog ng Pangulo: Serbisyong Sapat para sa Lahat” initiative.
According to Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma, the job fair is taking place simultaneously at 60 venues across the country. “We have lined up a number of job fairs, and this nationwide activity is a key part of our efforts.”
DOLE Undersecretary Carmela Torres confirmed that 950 employers are participating, with a total of 67,022 local job vacancies being offered. The majority of these job opportunities are concentrated in the National Capital Region, Calabarzon, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, and Northern Mindanao.
The most in-demand positions include production workers, machine operators, customer service representatives, cashiers, sales clerks, painters, carpenters, service crew, call center agents, and roles in retail sales, construction, and financial services.
In addition to the job fair, DOLE Undersecretary Benjo Benavidez announced that payouts totaling P1 billion will be distributed to 250,000 beneficiaries of the emergency employment program. Additionally, P183 million in livelihood assistance will be provided to over 9,000 beneficiaries during the event.
“The payouts will happen in 76 provinces across different regions,” Benavidez noted. (AVS/PIA-NCR)
