ODIONGAN, Romblon (PIA) — The Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) is urging coconut farmers in Romblon to register in the National Coconut Farmers Registry System (NCFRS) to qualify for a range of government assistance programs.
This call for registration was made by Hazel Noche, Agriculturist II of PCA Romblon, during a PIA Barangay Forum in Barangay Poblacion, Ferrol on September 25.
Farmers who successfully register with the NCFRS will be eligible for significant support, including the provision of 143 coconut seedlings per hectare of farmland.
Noche also said that in addition to seedlings, registered farmers can benefit from fertilizer distributions and technical guidance under the Republic Act 11524, also known as the Coconut Farmers and Industry Trust Fund Act. This act is designed to ensure that resources are allocated to support coconut farmers through the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP).
The CFIDP includes programs to help coconut farmers increase productivity, improve their livelihoods, and strengthen the industry’s resilience.

The PCA’s initiatives under the CFIDP involve providing not only agricultural inputs but also training and other forms of capacity-building.
Noche emphasized that the registration serves as a gateway for coconut farmers to access a variety of government programs tailored to the sector.
She also assured farmers that the Municipal Agriculture Offices across Romblon are open and ready to assist with their applications for the NCFRS.
By ensuring that more farmers register in the NCFRS, PCA Romblon aims to increase the reach of its programs and promote the sustainable development of the coconut industry in the province. (PJF/PIA MIMAROPA-Romblon)
