The agencies conducted a symposium on drug prevention and crime reduction on October 3, at the Capiz Provincial Capitol in Roxas City.
DepEd project development officer and learner formation Jhean Mae Grace Lingco said the symposium was attended by 63 BKD officers from the different secondary schools of SDO Capiz, 45 BKD advisers, and one DepEd Staff.
“The symposium is part of implementing the Project My Peer Against Drugs (Project MPAD) of DepEd as per DepEd Memorandum No. 200, s. 2016, aimed to strengthen the implementation of the National Drug Education Program (NDEP) through establishing BKD in schools,” Lingco added.
She also said that after the one-day symposium, the attendees will be able to learn about strategies to combat drug use and promote safer communities.
Moreover, the Capiz provincial government and DILG also conduct a symposium for drug abuse prevention for out-of-school youth and in-school youth, and also a leadership training during the event.
