Comelec Abra underscores ‘whole-of-government’ approach for a successful 2025 polls

Provincial Election Supervisory Atty. Nicasio Jacob, Abra Provincial Police Director PCol. Gilbert Fati-ig, and 24th Infantry Battalion Commanding Officer LtCol. Wilfredo Panes lead the solidarity pact signing for a safe, fair, accurate, and free 2025 National and Local Elections.

BANGUED, Abra (PIA) – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Abra stressed the importance of interagency collaboration in ensuring a secure, accurate, free, and fair polls during the Solidarity Pact Signing for the 2025 National and Local Elections and Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections at the Camp Juan Villamor, Calaba, Bangued on February 5, 2025.

This campaign period, all of us are involved. We apply the ‘whole-of-government’ approach so buong bureaucracy ng Pilipinas ang magta-trabaho para sa eleksyon, hindi lang ang Comelec,” Provincial Election Supervisor Nicasio S. Jacob said.

He also explained the roles of the different partners and stakeholders in terms of logistics, manpower, communication, and  peace and order.

Jacob encouraged the stakeholders to report to the Comelec or the deputized agencies of any violations or issues and concerns towards a successful conduct of elections in the province.

As deputies of the Comelec, kung tayo ay magtulong-tulong, pupunta tayo sa iisang layunin, and that is a safe and credible 2025 election,” he said.

Meanwhile, Abra Provincial Police Office Director PCol. Gilbert Fati-ig said the solidarity pact signing is  the Philippine National Police’s call for collaboration with partner agencies to uphold the rule of law, promote mutual respect, and safeguard the electoral process. an activity that shows the unity of the different offices of government, including the different sectors of the community.

This event signifies a crucial step toward ensuring a peaceful, fair, accurate and credible electoral process,” he said.

The activity was also led by 24th Infantry Battalion Commanding Officer LtCol. Wilfredo Panes, DILG-Abra Provincial Director Kristoffer Dave Alvarez, NCIP-Abra Director Agnes Gabuat, DepEd Abra Schools Division Superintendent Amador Garcia, and faith-based leaders.

During the event, DSWD-Cordillera Director Maria Catbagan Aplaten also shared the Anti-Epal campaign of the agency  that aims to protect social welfare programs from being used by politicians. (JJMT, PIA-CAR, Abra)
