TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) – – The Commission on Elections (COMELEC), in collaboration with the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Region 2, launched the Nationwide Automated Counting Machine (ACM) Roadshow in the Cagayan Valley Region today, December 2.
The event, held at the PIA Regional Office 2 studio in Tuguegarao City, gathered key stakeholders to witness a live demonstration of the ACM technology, which is crucial in modernizing the electoral process.
The ACM demonstration served as the highlight of the event, showcasing its capabilities in ensuring transparency, efficiency, and accuracy in vote counting.
Participants from various sectors, including government agencies, students and the media, actively engaged in the session to better understand the system’s features and operation.
In his message, COMELEC Regional Director Ederlino Tabilas emphasized the importance of the ACM in safeguarding the sanctity of votes.
“This technology reflects our unwavering commitment to upholding democracy. By modernizing our systems, we ensure credible and trusted electoral processes for all Filipinos,” he stated.
Tabilas said the ACM Roadshow is part of COMELEC’s effort to promote awareness and transparency in the electoral process, ensuring that every vote counts and is accurately reflected.
As the roadshow progresses across different regions, stakeholders are encouraged to participate actively and deepen their understanding of the modernized system.
The demonstration included a step-by-step walkthrough of the ACM’s features led by Comelec Assistant Regional Director Jerbee Anthony Cortez, from ballot feeding to vote tallying and results transmission.
