TABUK CITY, Kalinga(PIA) — The Commission on Election (COMELEC) reminds candidates in the October 30, 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) not to wait for the last day to file their Statement of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE).
Tabuk City Election Officer Reyman A. Solbita said deadline of filing of the BSKE SOCE is November 29, 2023, one month after the conduct of the elections.
Pursuant to Republic Act 7166, Section14, all candidates, elected and not elected, are directed to file their SOCE within 30 days after the day of election or they be meted with corresponding penalty.
Any winning candidate who fails to file his SOCE cannot assume public office, Solbita explained.
Candidates may file their SOCE at COMELEC office in their respective areas . (LL-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
