IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay, Nov 14 (PIA) – Through a collaborative effort, a medical outreach and love drive was recently held in Purok Miramar, Sitio Sibakya, Brgy. Sanito in Ipil, bringing much-needed medical services to the residents in this remote area.
Adults and children were offered and given free check-up and essential medicines. The medical team ensured that every individual received the care they needed, addressing health concerns and providing access to vital medications.
Sitio Sibakya community leader Lolito Yrog-Yrog extended their sincere gratitude for the initiative and its dedicated team.
“We are truly grateful that you chose our community to do this medical outreach and love drive despite the logistical challenges of reaching our remote location,” Yrog-Yrog said.

The success of the medical outreach and love drive highlighted the dedication of the participating organizations and showcased their strength and resilience. It served as a reminder that by working together, everyone can create a positive impact, even in challenging and remote areas.
“We are delighted to assist them. The journey going there is quite challenging but it is rewarding at the same time seeing the happy faces of the residents,” said Masdi Hasim, Municipal Cooperative Officer of Ipil Community Multi-Purpose Cooperative.
Sitio Sibakya, the last sitio in Brgy. Sanito, is a small island that is 30 minutes away by boat from the mainland with less than 200 residents. One can reach it using a small boat or ‘bangka’.

The event reached 33 households and positively affected the lives of 62 children, emphasizing the remarkable outcome that can be achieved through unity and compassion within the community. It demonstrated how collective efforts can make a significant difference in the lives of those who need it most.
The collaborative efforts of the local government unit of Ipil, the Municipal Cooperative Office, ICMC (Ipil Community Multipurpose Cooperative), IMAVEMCO (Ipil Market Vendors Multipurpose Cooperative), the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), and the Municipal Health Office were instrumental in making the event a reality.
The organizers expressed their gratitude to all those involved and reaffirmed their commitment to continue supporting the local community.
