ZAMBOANGA CITY, Mar 29 (PIA) – The Employees Compensation Commission (ECC-9) continues to conduct orientation to different offices for the claiming of employees compensation benefits.
The filing of application for compensation benefits are now being made easy to be accessed by the employees and employers. During the pandemic, the ECC-9 shift its services through online application which gives the employees convenience in claiming their benefits.
ECC provides rehabilitation of the persons with work-related disability (PWRDs) and their main objective is to facilitate the integration of PWRDs into the economic mainstream of society through their different programs and projects.
One of their projects that they advocate is the Katulong at Gabay sa Manggagawang May Kapansanan or KaGaBay is an assistance project to PWRDs, which provides vocational skills and entrepreneurial training and other assistance that will allow PWRDs to find employment or self-employment.
However, Cerna Ahmad-Ayub, the information officer of ECC-9 highlights social protection for workers which they also advocate through their prevention program in the workplace, which aims to promote health and protection of workers in the workplaces by raising the employers and workers awareness on the value of adopting and observing appropriate preventive measures.
Ahmad-Ayub emphasizes that employees should not hesitate in filing their employees compensation benefits.
“Let us take care of ourselves in our work places. Safety is our priority,” she added.
CC-9 encourages private and government offices to invite them and discuss their programs for the employees and easy filing of claims and benefits. They continue their intensification of information dissemination of their programs through seminars, training and one-on-one services.
ECC also celebrated their anniversary on March 17, and during the celebration they conducted a one-day seminar for private and government offices in Zamboanga City to share the programs and process of claiming their benefits. (RVC/MLE/PIA9-Zamboanga City)
