BAGUIO CITY (PIA) – – As a pro – active measure for the Philippine Military Academy graduation ceremony this Saturday (May 18), the Cordillera Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CRDRRMC) has activated its Emergency Operations Center (EOC) for heightened monitoring, preparedness and readiness to response to any incident or emergency.
CRDRRMC chairperson, Office of Civil Defense Regional Director Albert Mogol directed the EOC to be on Blue alert on Friday and Sunday (May 17 and 19), and on Red alert on May 18, the PMA graduation day.
In a memorandum, Mogol encouraged the Provincial DRRM Council of Benguet and the local DRRMs of the metro BLISTT or Baguio City, and the Benguet municipalities of La Trinidad, Itogon, Sablan, Tuba and Tublay, to also synchronize their alert status with the CRDRRMC to ensure synchronized preparedness and interoperability for response.

Mogol also presided a Pre – Disaster Risk Assessment (PDRA) meeting on Wednesday (May 15), a standard operating procedure of the CRDRRMC for any high density event or activities inside its area of responsibility.
The PDRA meeting looked into the weather outlook from PAGASA and the preparedness and safety plan of the PMA, the Baguio City DRRM Council and the Baguio City Police Office, as well as other concerns that can have an impact to the event.
The PMA graduation will have President Ferdinand “Bongbong’ Marcos Jr., as the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines as the guest of honor and speaker.

It will also be graced by other national leaders and high ranking officials of the AFP and International Cadet Corps, as well as hundreds of family members of the 278 graduating cadets.
As our pro – active measure and SOP for high density event and activities such as this PMA graduation, we must maintain a heightened monitoring, preparedness and ready to response mode, to ensure the safety of the people, including our officials headed by the President, Mogol said.
