The Metro Arakan Valley Complex – Project Management Office (MAVC-PMO) remains firm in its commitment to promote sustainable growth across Cotabato Province, with a clear focus on strengthening the agro-industrial and ecotourism sectors of the local government units (LGUs) that are part of the alliance.
The Metro Arakan Valley Complex alliance is composed of 10 local government units: the municipalities of Arakan, Magpet, President Roxas, Antipas, Matalam, Makilala, Mlang, Kabacan and the city of Kidapawan.
By implementing projects that direct both economic and environmental advancement, MAVC-PMO ensures that local communities, particularly in the nine municipalities involved in the inter-LGU alliance, continue to develop, an official of the alliance said.
During the recent episode of Talakayang Dose, a radio program of the Philippine Information Agency Region 12, MAVC-PMO Administrator Taya Tagitican mentioned that the improvement in the LGUs is noticeable, especially in the agro-industrial and tourism sectors.
“[Sa] lahat po ng programa ng Metro Arakan Valley Complex, ang scheme lang po nito ay alagaan, pagyamanin, para makita natin ‘yong stability and productivity of the program,” Tagitican explained, highlighting the PMO’s commitment to long-term success.
(For all the programs of the Metro Arakan Valley Complex, the scheme is to nurture and develop them, so we can see the stability and productivity of the program.)
In recent years, the MAVC-PMO has strengthened its monitoring and evaluation of various programs to ensure their effectiveness.
As the initiatives continue to reach communities, the aim is not only to provide immediate benefits to local farmers and producers but also to highlight the unique and natural beauty of Cotabato Province’s landscapes and natural habitats.
“We always keep in mind na kailangan mapagsilbihan natin ng maayos ang ating mga kababayan. Kailangan ipagpatuloy natin ‘yong mga nasimulan, ‘yong mga bagay na kailangan nating matugunan doon sa pangangailangan ng ating mga kababayan,” he said.
(We always keep in mind that we need to serve our fellow citizens properly. We must continue what we have started, those things that address the needs of our people.)
By integrating agro-industrial development with sustainable tourism, the MAVC-PMO creates an environment where communities can grow both economically and culturally.
The alliance of municipalities in Cotabato Province serves as a model that plays an important role in ensuring that the province reaches its fullest potential. (CRM, PIA Region 12)
