Cotabato families laud PBBM for the new housing project

TULUNAN, Cotabato Province (PIA) — The National Housing Authority (NHA)-Region 12, in collaboration with the provincial government of Cotabato, the local government unit of Tulunan, and the Office of Civil Defense-SOCCKSARGEN, recently conducted the turnover ceremony for the 52 permanent housing units in Barangay New Caridad, Tulunan, Cotabato.

Norma Taub, 64, a resident of Sitio Elkak, New Caridad, said she is beyond grateful to the government under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for giving them a decent house, for which they waited for almost five years.

For Rebecca Ninto, the new house will bear witness to the family’s journey to a better future.

“Hindi mapapantayan ang aming pasasalamat sa biyayang natanggap mula sa pamahalaan,” Ninto added.

(We express our immeasurable gratitude for the blessing we received from the government.)

On behalf of other constituents, barangay chairperson Richard Pandacan expressed thanks to concerned agencies who worked hand in hand to realize the longtime dream of every family in the municipality gravely affected by the series of earthquakes in October 2019.

The 52 housing units in the barangay are part of the 517 housing units awarded to the municipality.

Aside from New Caridad, other project sites include Barangay Paraiso (140 housing units), Magbok (122), Batang (63), and Daig (140).

The NHA is expected to complete construction of the housing units in other barangays by the last quarter of 2024.  (PIA Cotabato Province, with reports from PLGU-Cotabato and NHA12)
