CSC-10 leads celebrations for 123rd PH civil service anniv

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)–The Civil Service Commission (CSC)-10 spearheaded a thanksgiving mass, September 1, at the St. Augustine Metropolitan Cathedral in commemoration of the 123rd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary and also lined up activities for the whole month.

The event garnered participation from various national line agencies and embraced the theme for this year’s celebration: “Transforming Public Service in the Next Decade: Honing Agile and Future-Ready Servant Heroes.”

The annual Philippine Civil Service Anniversary is a momentous occasion that pays tribute to the unwavering commitment of civil servants across the nation. It serves as an acknowledgment of their dedication to public service and a platform to explore innovative ways to enhance the public sector’s efficiency.

The celebration is not confined to a single day; instead, it spans a month-long series of activities aimed at fostering a culture of service excellence and transformation in the public sector. The 2023 celebration boasts a diverse lineup of events, including the 2023 Online Zumba and Film Showing, September 1. This serves as an opportunity for civil servants to come together in a virtual environment to promote health and well-being.

They will also hold the Seminar-Workshop on Digital Transformation with Chairperson Nograles as the keynote speaker, September 5. The workshop focuses on streamlining government processes through digitalization. On September 15, there will be a Plant Run, an eco-conscious initiative aimed at promoting environmental awareness and sustainability.

Connecting job seekers with government career opportunities, CSC-10 will hold the Government Online Career Fair, September 19–20, at SM CDO Downtown Premier. Also, to contribute to the nation’s blood supply, there will be a bloodletting activity, September 19 at Ayala Centrio Mall.

Recognizing and giving thanks to outstanding public servants, the CSC-10 will host the 2023 Parangal at Pasasalamat, September 22, at Mallberry Suites Business Hotel. On the same day, they will hold the HAP Awardees Tree-Planting Activity at the Lingkod Bayani Eco-Park, Barangay Pagatpat, here, to advocate for the conservation of the environment.

Moreover, a platform for HR professionals to share insights and best practices will be underscored in the Public Sector HR Symposium, September 26–27, in Pasay City. They will also have the Contact Center ng Bayan (CCB) Recognition of Government Agency Partners. This is a government initiative that serves as a channel for citizens to voice their concerns, complaints, feedback, and inquiries about government services. It aims to improve the delivery of government services by facilitating communication between citizens and government agencies.

CSC-10 will also host the Medical Mission of Government Workers, where different health personnel will be offering healthcare services to individuals in need, September 28, at Kinoguitan, Misamis Oriental.

This year’s theme underscores the importance of adapting to the changing times and evolving needs of the public. It encourages civil servants to be agile and equipped with the necessary skills to provide efficient and future-ready service.

CSC-10 remains committed to upholding the values of integrity, excellence, and innovation in public service. The month-long celebration serves as a testament to their dedication to building a brighter future for the public sector and the Filipino people. (RTP/PIA-10)
