CEBU CITY, Cebu (PIA) — To expand the accessibility of government services, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) in Central Visayas has successfully launched its outreach initiative dubbed “CSC at Your Doorstep: Bringing CSC Services to its Clients.”

This initiative aims to reduce the financial burden and inconvenience experienced by civil service passers from the provinces of Negros Oriental, Bohol, and Siquijor who needed to travel to the CSC7 regional office for eligibility-related services.

Since the program’s launching on April 3, a total of 604 clients have benefited from CSC’s services.

One of the services provided by CSC is the issuance of Certificate of Eligibility (COE) printed on CSC letterhead for individuals who passed the Career Service Examinations (Professional and Subprofessional) from 2022 to 2024.

A total of 136 COEs and authenticated copies were released to clients who made prior requests, while 335 walk-in applications for COEs and authenticated copies were processed and issued onsite.

CSC also processed and released 46 Special Eligibilities (SPELS) for walk-in clients.

Hassle-free processing

Peavey Sumalpong, a student from Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) in Dumaguete City, and a 2023 Professional Career Service Examination passer, thanked CSC for their initiative as she conveniently received both her COE and authenticated copy without having to travel to Cebu.

“Thankful kaayo ko sa ‘CSC at Your Doorstep.’ Very convenient kaayo namo sya sa mga taga-lagyo especially nga mogasto pa mi’g travel expenses which is dili na kay napaduol naman sya namo,” she said.

(I’m very thankful for ‘CSC at Your Doorstep.’ It is very convenient for those of us who live afar, especially since we no longer need to spend on travel expenses because the services have been brought closer to us.)

“Imbes moabot pa’g two hours or so ang process, napadali sya. Niabot sya’g mga less than an hour. Then, nakuha na dayon akong documents,” she added.

(Instead of a process that would typically take two hours or more, it was expedited. It took less than an hour, and I immediately received my documents.)

The CSC’s initiative was rolled out in Negros Oriental on April 3 to 4, 2025, followed by Bohol on April 7 to 8, and Siquijor on April 10 to 11.

CSC announced that the ‘CSC at Your Doorstep’ is tentatively scheduled to take place shortly after the release of the August 2025 Career Service Examination–Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) results.

This upcoming round aims to cater to a new batch of passers and will continue extending accessible, efficient services to clients across the region.

Further details, including exact dates and locations, will be announced in the coming months at CSC’s official Facebook page at www.facebook.com/cscro7. (MSH/PIA Cebu with reports from CSC-7)
