CSC cites media’s role in promoting search for outstanding gov’t workers

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has recognized media as a key partner in promoting this year’s Search for Outstanding Government Workers.

At a media gathering on Thursday at the CSC Central Office in Quezon City, Fiaberna U. Salumbides, Director IV and head of the Public Assistance and Information Office, highlighted the significant role of the media in spreading information about the commission’s programs and projects.

Hihingi po kami ng tulong ninyo para mapalaganap ang programang ito,” said Salumbides recognizing the importance of the annual search that has been running for 65 years.

The CSC official briefed the media present of the annual search composed of three award categories.

Presidential Lingkod Bayad Award

The award is conferred to an individual or group comprised of five members for exceptional and extraordinary contributions resulting from an idea or performance that had nationwide impact on public interest, security, and patrimony.

Pagasa Award

The award is conferred to an individual or group comprised of five members for outstanding contributions resulting from an idea or performance which directly benefit more than one department of the government.

Dangal ng Bayan Award

The award is conferred to an individual for performance of an extraordinary act or public service and consistent demonstration of exemplary ethical behavior on the basis of observance of the eight norms of conduct provided under RA 6713 or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.

Each award has a corresponding cash prize plus a gold-gilded medallion crafted by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).

The conferment of the awards is done by no less than the President.

Director Fia said that the deadline for submission of nominations is on March 31, 2025.
