ILIGAN CITY (PIA)–As part of the celebration of national micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) month, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation of Iligan Inc. (CCIFII) initiated a seminar that discussed cybercrime awareness, the importance of using e-signatures, and simplified payroll processing.
“Crimes committed in cyberspace are called cybercrimes because they are considered crimes. It means that they have been defined as crimes and are subject to punishment according to the law. If someone commits such crimes, they can be charged, arrested, and imprisoned,” said Assistant City Prosecutor Lawyer Jasmine Guio Diaz in her discussion.
Meanwhile,Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT)-10 Planning Officer for Cybersecurity Bret John Morales highlighted the importance and timeliness of using e-signatures to prevent delays and fraud.
“One of the biggest problems nowadays is when you need to sign documents with other agencies, which often results in long lines and delays,” he said.
CCIFII also invited partners to discuss simplified payroll processing for business owners. According to Princess Dawn Sevilla, the client relations head at Yashua, payroll processing can be simplified through automation and integration. (CEC/PIA-10/Lanao del Norte)
