DA-13 grants P3.8M to LGU – Madrid

MADRID, Surigao del Sur — The Department of Agriculture (DA) Caraga through its Agribusiness and Management Assistance Division (AMAD) successfully turned over a financial grant worth P3.8 million to the municipality of Madrid, Surigao del Sur, under the Enhanced Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita, held at DA – Caraga Regional Office in Butuan City.

DA regional executive director, Engr. Ricardo M. Oñate, Jr., together with AMAD chief Lynn Pareñas, supervising agriculturist Marissa Garces, and market Specialist Marilou Gruyal handed over the check to Madrid municipal agriculturist Theresa Ilogon  and SB member and chairperson of the Committee on Agriculture, Vidal Dahonog.

The grant will be used to procure one hauling truck to fasten the mobilization of the agricultural products and resources in the municipality.

The Kadiwa ni Ani at Kita financial grant program under the DA is a direct marketing scheme where producers are directly linked to the consuming market, making food commodities available and affordable to consumers through the Kadiwa retail stores in strategic locations.
