KASIBU, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) – The Department of Agriculture (DA) has completed a farm-to-market road project to boost its agricultural growth and economic development.
Mayor Romeo Tayaban, along with other provincial, town, and farmers organizations’ officials received the project from the DA executives led by Assistant Secretary for Operations and PRDP Deputy Project Director U-Nichols Manalo.
Tayaban assured the LGU’s support in the operation and maintenance of the project in partnership with the four immediate beneficiary barangays.
“We thank our DA partners for this project. Let us show our unity and cooperation to maintain and protect this important infrastructure project for our farmers and ordinary villagers,” he said.
Tayaban said the newly completed PRDP–funded project which will directly benefit 737 villagers or 165 households will also serve as an inspiration for the farmers to strive on their respective agricultural endeavors to uplift their lives and transform the upland town of Kasibu as a major agricultural development and economic hub of Nueva Vizcaya.
Manalo said the road project will enhance accessibility and will foster economic growth, open up new markets to increase the livelihood and income of the citrus farmers.
“I also congratulate the local government of Kasibu, the provincial government and the RPCO 02 for exemplifying good governance in the completion of the project,” he said.
He also assured that the Department shall continue to provide opportunities to farmers and fisherfolk and that the agency will remain focused on addressing the current challenges being faced by the agriculture sector. (BME/PIA NVizcaya)
