DA info caravan brings agri innovations, support to Bukidnon farmers

MALAYBALAY CITY (PIA) – To update farmers and fisherfolk on innovations, techniques, programs, and projects, the Department of Agriculture–Regional Field Office 10 (DA-10) conducted an Information Caravan (InfoCar) in Bukidnon on July 23.

Acting Assistant Provincial Agriculturist Maria Lilith M. Turan said the InfoCar is crucial for informing Bukidnon farmers on agricultural techniques and available interventions from the DA and its partner agencies.

DA-10 Regional Technical Director for Operations Carlota S. Madriaga said La Niña can bring significant weather changes that affect crop and livestock production.

“This is a great opportunity for you to learn new agricultural techniques and stay informed about developments impacting our sector, especially during the current La Niña alert. By understanding and adapting to these conditions, you can better manage your farming practices and mitigate potential challenges,” Madriaga said, urging them to share their insights and acquired skills with fellow farmers in their respective localities.

In addition to the interactive sessions, DA officials committed to addressing further concerns from participants through the Bukidnon Provincial Operations Center led by Dr. Janet Lopez and the DA-10 official social media page.

Department of Agriculture and its attached bureaus and agencies conduct an annual InfoCar in collaboration with provincial governments across Northern Mindanao.

Bukidnon is the second stop in this year’s series, followed by Camiguin, Lanao del Norte, and Misamis Occidental. (DA-10/PIA-10/Bukidnon)
