ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) — Vivian Allanares, Regional Manager for Visayas Operation of Soroso Ibaba Development Cooperative (SIDC) expressed her gratitude to the Department of Agriculture – Integrated National Swine Production Initiatives for Recovery and Expansion (DA-INSPIRE) Program for their P10 million worth of Breeder Base-Establishment of 30-sow level Multiplier Farm.
“Madamo gid nga salamat sa DA Region 6 kay ang INSPIRE program madako gid ang mabulig sa amon repopulation sang hogs nga breeders and fattening,” she said.

Allanares shared that their cooperative has more than 6,000 members who are farmers and hog raisers in the province.
“Kami sa SIDC agri-based cooperative kami nga nagapaalaga gid sang baboy. When the ASF came, dako-dako gid ang amon nga lugi,” she added.
(We in the SIDC is an agri-based cooperative, we make our members raise hogs. When the African Swine Fever (ASF) came, we have experienced significant losses.)
SIDC is among the beneficiaries of the DA Western Visayas during the “Handog ng Pangulo Serbisyong Tapat Para sa Lahat,” a nationwide simultaneous distribution of Comprehensive Government Assistance, at the Capiz Provincial Capitol in Roxas City on Sept. 13.
Further, DA Integrated Laboratory Division Chief Lorie De Asis said under the INSPIRE program, five beneficiaries received P10 million each, for the recovery and repopulation program of DA for the sectors affected by ASF.
“The package includes a housing facility, equipment, breeders stock, feeds, and biologics,” De Asis noted.
She also said the regional office has turned over two units of hand tractors, one four-wheel drive tractor, and one unit of combine harvester, worth P5,650.000.00 for the rice program as they will also distribute soil ameliorant and high-price seeds for the rice farmers in the province.
De Asis stated that for the corn program, the DA distributed one unit of a hammer mill to the Mainit Farmers Association in Cuartero town worth P250,000.00.
Moreover, aside from the DA, various national government agencies have distributed assistance to the Capiceños in celebration of the 65th birthday of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. (AGP/PLF/PIA Capiz)
