DA-PCC to strengthen Carabao Development Program

KABACAN, Cotabato Province (PIA) — The Department of Agriculture-Philippine Carabao Center (DA-PCC) at the University of Southern Mindanao has reiterated its commitment to enhance the implementation of the Carabao Development Program in the region.

The agency’s resolve was even more pronounced after the center recently passed its ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System recertification audit.

The recertification focused on the genetic improvement program, creating carabao-based enterprises, and research development.

“Sa DA-PCC at USM, kami ay naniniwala (we believe) that quality is the foundation of our every success. Achieving ISO 9001:2015 recertification reaffirms our commitment to consistently delivering excellence,” Center Director Geoffray R. Atok of DA-PCC at USM said.

The ISO feat, he added, made the center even more determined to help the rural farming communities in Region XI, Region XII, and some parts of the Bangsamoro region, as well as the carabao industry.

The agency had established its ISO 9001 Quality Management System for the implementation of quality products and services that conformed with standard requirements since 2013.

It continues to ensure that its management practices meet the highest international standards.

Atok also assured the public, particularly the center’s clients, of more streamlined processes and enhanced customer service this year.

“This certification strengthens our promise to continuously support your buffalo operations with innovative solutions and reliable, top-quality products and services,” he emphasized.

The center focuses on genetic improvement, enterprise development, and research while strengthening services like artificial insemination, bull entrustment, and technical assistance for farmers and technicians.

Atok urged the public to help promote the programs of the DA-PCC, support the carabao industries as well as the dairy farmers, and to avail themselves of the various programs of the PCC.  (With reports from DA-PCC@USM)
