DAR awards 195 e-titles to beneficiaries in Quirino

CABARROGUIS, Quirino (PIA) — The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), through its Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) Project, recently distributed 195 electronic land titles (e-titles) to agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) at Barangay Keat, Nagtipunan, Quirino.

The distribution in Nagtipunan ranks second in the number of titles released under the activity, following Isabela’s 381 titles. Meanwhile, Nueva Vizcaya and Cagayan distributed 25 and 17 property documents, respectively.

In his message, DAR Regional Director Primo Lara emphasized the agency’s strong commitment to supporting farmers in remote barangays.

“We know how difficult it is to travel to the provincial office, especially given the distance between the barangay and the office. That is why we are here in Barangay Keat to bring our programs closer to the people,” Lara said.

He further explained that the one-day activity is part of the simultaneous, regionwide distribution of Emancipation Patents, Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOAs), and SPLIT e-titles.

“In Quirino province alone, a total of 195 titles covering an aggregate area of 674.5639 hectares were issued to 209 agrarian reform beneficiaries,” he added.

Vice Governor Julius Ceasar Vaquilar, who represented the provincial government, praised the programs of the DAR and its partner agencies for their efforts in assisting farmers and addressing the challenges they face.

For his part, Attorney Albert Lasiste, Jr., Executive Assistant of the Municipality of Nagtipunan, highlighted the significance of DAR’s programs in improving the lives of farmer-beneficiaries.

“We consistently encourage our constituents, especially our agrarian reform beneficiaries, to support and participate in DAR’s initiatives, such as the SPLIT Project. This is a clear example of how the government continues to listen and respond to our needs,” Lasiste said.

Jerry Pasigian, one of the farmer-beneficiaries, expressed his gratitude to the DAR for its dedication and effort in delivering what is rightfully due to the people.

Pasigian assured DAR that, together with the other beneficiaries, they will adhere to their responsibilities as agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) concerning their landholdings, and that they will form organizations to promote their collective welfare and strengthen their capacity as farmers.
