KIDAPAWAN CITY, Cotabato Province (PIA) — The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Cotabato Province continues to distribute Certificates of Condonation with Release of Mortgage (CoCRoM) to Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries in the province.
Since the start of distribution in July 2023, DAR Cotabato has issued a total of 3,270 CoCRoMS. These amount to P159,129,874.66, covering 4,605.34 hectares.
“Ang CoCRoM o ang Certificate of Condonation with Release of Mortgage ay higit pa sa isang piraso ng papel. Ito ay isang simbolo ng kalayaan mula sa mga utang at ng isang mas maliwanag na kinabukasan para mga pamilya at mga komunidad ng mga magsasaka,” Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Evangeline C. Bueno said.
(The CoCRoM, or the Certificate of Condonation with Release of Mortgage, is more than just a piece of paper. It is a symbol of freedom from debt and a brighter future for families and farming communities.)
This year, DAR Cotabato continues to distribute CoCRoMs in different parts of the province, maximizing the potential of its municipal offices in reaching far-flung areas to ensure that no ARBs will be left behind.
Bueno also urged those who already received their certificates to visit the Registry of Deeds to make sure that they get a clean title.
“Para sa mga nakatanggap na at mga makakatanggap pa lamang ng CoCRoM, inaanyayahan namin kayong magtungo sa Registry of Deeds upang makansela ang annotation ng mortgage sa inyong mga titulo at gawing malinis na titulo,” the official emphasized, adding that this will help ARBs to access additional financing from concerned government offices, which can help improve their agricultural ventures.
(For those who have already received and those who will soon receive the CoCRoM, we invite you to go to the Registry of Deeds to cancel the mortgage annotation on your titles and obtain a clean title.)
The New Agrarian Emancipation Act, also known as Republic Act 11953, mandates the issuance of these certificates to relieve ARBs from debts and keep their finances stable so that farmers can focus on farming and livelihood development. (SJDM-PIA Cotabato Province)
