ILOILO CITY (PIA) – – The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Iloilo remains committed to pursue the full implementation of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) as it steps up the processing of land distribution in the province.
In the second quarter of 2024, the Field Validation Teams (FVTs) of DAR – Iloilo have accomplished a total of 66 Collective Certificate of Land Ownership Awards (CCLOAs) covering around 414.4239 hectares.
These landholdings which are the subjects of the field validation were situated in the 17 municipalities of Iloilo province and Passi City. The 17 municipalities include Alimodian, Anilao, Badiangan, Barotac Nuevo, Barotac Viejo, Bingawan, Calinog, Concepcion, Duenas, Estancia, Janiuay, Lemery, Leon, Maasin, Oton, Sara, and Tigbauan.
The FVTs also assisted 558 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) and provided them information about the “Support to Parcelization of Land for Individual Titling” or SPLIT project of the agency during the field validation.
Considered for World Bank funding, the SPLIT project involves the subdivision of the CLOAs issued under the CARP into individual titles. It will cover over a million hectares of collective titles, involving nearly a million farmer-beneficiaries nationwide.
DAR-Iloilo Social Media Manager Doneo Pahigdana further explained that the CCLOAs will be processed and subdivided into individual electronic land titles and will be distributed to qualified ARBs under Project SPLIT.
The effort is consistent with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr to speed up the distribution of lands to qualified farmer beneficiaries.
Despite the notable contribution of the FVTs hired under Project SPLIT, this also signifies the culmination of field validation after roughly three years of extensive ground activities such as CCLOA inventory, meetings/consultations with stakeholders, and field inspection, according to DAR Iloilo.
