TULUNAN, Cotabato Province (PIA) — Members of the Paraiso Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARB) Association of Barangay Paraiso in Tulunan are now ready to have their farm businesses reach another level.

This came after 30 members of the association recently graduated from the Department of Agrarian Reform’s (DAR) Farm Business School.

According to Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer Evangeline Bueno, the FBS will help enhance ARBs’ entrepreneurial knowledge and skills in farm business management.

She stated that the FBS, which started in February of this year, included 25 training sessions.

“We are hoping that the graduates will apply the theories they learn and put their learning and their acquired business management skills into practice in order to make progress on their respective farms,” Bueno said.

The FBS implementation is part of DAR’s Program Beneficiaries Development, which provides a wide range of necessary support services to promote farm development and productivity.

Gil Talingting, one of the graduates, expressed his gratitude to DAR and all FBS trainers who dedicated their time and talents and endured all challenges to bring the school to the farmers.

Talingting stated, “We are very fortunate to receive training in farm entrepreneurship because it equips us to diversify our activities and increase farming’s profitability.”

He believes that the FBS program comes at a perfect time as the organization prepares to engage in a variety of dynamic economic activities.

Talingting said the Paraiso ARB Association is now waiting for their cooperative registration certificate to engage in buy-and-sell activities.

The main products of the association are cardava, banana, coconut, and rubber. (SJDM – PIA Cotabato Province, with reports from DAR-Cotabato)
