Davao City Overland Transport Terminal prepares for Holy Week rush

DAVAO CITY (PIA) — The Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT) is bracing for an expected influx of 50,000 to 85,000 passengers per day during Holy Week, and the management has laid out a series of security and operational measures to ensure public safety and convenience.

DCOTT Manager Aisa Usop confirmed the figures and assured the public of comprehensive preparations in coordination with Task Force Davao, the Philippine National Police (PNP), City Security Unit (CSU), and other partners.

“We have to see to it the security measures on how we can implement it. We already conducted a meeting together with our Task Force Davao, being the frontliner in our passengers’ entrance, and second, together with our men in uniform, the PNP, our CSU, and the DCOTT terminal.” Usop said.

The terminal is fully equipped with 32 functional CCTV cameras, three baggage x-ray machines, and walk-through scanners—essential tools for monitoring crowd flow and preventing theft or suspicious activity.

Usop encouraged passengers to be vigilant, especially during peak hours, and promptly report any lost belongings to the Public Assistance Counter for immediate CCTV review and recovery efforts.

DCOTT located in a 1.7 hectare facility in Ecoland, Davao City is one of the main land transportation hubs in the region which connects Davao City to different locations across Mindanao. (REC / PIA XI)
