DAVAO CITY—Davao City will be holding the Davao Pasko Fiesta Year End Party at the Coastal Road Esplanade Park Bago Aplaya on December 30.
Several talented bands, singers, dance groups, DJs, comedians, and other performance artists will be entertaining the expected crowd of 5,000 to 10,000 people.
The party will be headlined by Bukidnon reggae band Jayson In Town, along with The Dukes, Powercast Dancers, Davao Dancesports Society Davao Standup Comedians (Eduana, Manay Kenita, Shamcey TV, Rain Diva, Aria, Jeda, Mrs Crawfod, and drag artist Queen Elektra), Anton Diva, Jewel Johnson, Mugnapak Performing Arts, DJ Torch and Jed.
“Dabawenyos should get ready for a night of next-level entertainment with an all-star lineup that will keep you on your feet from start to finish!” says Year End Party event organizer Harold Quibete.
The party is the culminating event of the month-long Davao City’s Pasko Fiesta celebration. It is also the highlight event of the Coastal Road Food Bazaar held Dec. 26-31.
The biggest party in the Davao Pasko Fiesta will be free of charge to people wanting to attend the event.
No longer Dec. 31
The event used to be the annual New Year’s Eve Party organized by the City Government but this year it was decided to be held on Dec. 30.
“We noticed in the past, the people would come to the party in early evening but by 10 o’clock many would start to leave and return to their homes to celebrate New Year then by 1:30, 2 o’clock would return to the venue to celebrate, they would request to extend the party but we already extended the curfew,” Quibete said.
He added that many Dabawenyos still prefer to celebrate New Year with their families, thus they decided to hold the Year End on the 30th. (PIA/RGA)
