The Green Green Green project was first launched in 2017 by the DBM with the vision of promoting the government’s initiative on public open space development. This year’s launch aligns with the priorities of the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028 under the project’s special provision in the Fiscal Year 2024 national budget.
According to Secretary Pangandaman, the Green Green Green project is a significant step towards building more united, sustainable and livable communities through green infrastructures.
“We are able to take a huge step towards fulfilling the president’s goal of a Bagong Pilipinas where every Filipino is committed to the improvement of life in the community, involved in contributing to the maintenance of healthy ecology and devoted to providing secure environments that will benefit future generations,” Pangandaman said.
The project aims to combat climate change, help the economy and drive social development, Pangandaman added.

In her keynote speech, Sen. Legarda mentioned that the Green Green Green initiative aligns with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ Enhanced National Greening Program, which seeks to rehabilitate the nation’s forests and contribute to urban greening.
“The Green Green Green program underscores that economic progress should not come at the expense of environmental degradation. Instead, we strive for a balanced approach where development meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs,” Legarda said.
As the launch concluded, Sen. Legarda called upon local government units, private sector partners, and community leaders to work together in building communities that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also promote sustainability and resiliency.
“Let us harness the power of green infrastructure to create spaces where nature and human activity coexist harmoniously,” Legarda said. (JCO/PIA-NCR)
