DDOSC presents study to boost poultry industry

LAAK, Davao de Oro (PIA) – – The research team of Davao de Oro State College presented the result of their study to the farmers of Laak town to help boost the poultry inductry.

The team, led by the R&D Main Campus Section head  Joy T. Mosquiter, together with faculty-researcher Merry Ann M. Desucatan  of DDOSC-Laak Extension, presented the study which highlighted the importance of using herbal plants as drinking supplementation to broiler chickens.

These supplements could potentially enhance the production performance and sensory characteristics of the chickens, ultimately leading to improved quality and market value.

Desucatan also emphasizes that the use of herbal plants as dietary supplements could offer a sustainable and cost-effective approach to enhancing poultry farming practices.

The presentation concluded with a question-and-answer, together with the representatives from the Municipal Agriculture Office of Laak (MAGRO), led by Joy Mahilum, and participating farmers, to engage in an insightful discussion about the research findings and their practical applications.

The interactive session provided a platform for knowledge exchange and the exploration of potential collaboration between the academic and agricultural sectors.
