CALAMBA CITY, Laguna (PIA) – The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in CALABARZON has rolled out the Services on Wheels program, aiming to make its services and initiatives more accessible to the public, particularly in remote and far-flung areas.
During the Kapihan sa DENR CALABARZON organized by the Philippine Information Agency, DENR Calabarzon Regional Executive Director Nilo Tamoria highlighted the importance of reaching rural and marginalized communities to address environmental concerns, promote inclusivity in instituting environment programs, and provide immediate solutions.
“With Services on Wheels, we aim to ensure that no community is left behind in our collective efforts to protect the environment. This initiative allows us to address the unique needs of each area while empowering local residents to take action for a sustainable future,”
Tamoria explained that the program is in accordance with the presidential directive to educate the local government units and employ a ‘one stop shop’ for DENR services in certain areas which include processing of various environment related permits and tree-cutting permits, deeds of registration, wildlife registration, insurance for residential and agricultural lands, and distribution of seedlings through a Community PlanTREE.
“The program complies with the presidential directives to educate the local government units and the benefits of one stop shop that they are respective area and secure dull support for this initiative” Tamoria stated.
As of the December 12, 2024, the Services on Wheels initiative has reached nearly 1,661 clients across the Calabarzon region, providing essential services and support to communities that previously lacked access to the department.
