MAMBAJAO, Camiguin (PIA)–Unveiling a celebration of talent and inclusivity while highlighting the learners’ resilience and adaptability in the face of evolving learning landscapes, the Department of Education (DepEd) Camiguin Division held the “Inclusive Gen Z Extravaganza: The 1st Learners Convergence in Camiguin,” September 2.
The extravaganza featured an array of engaging activities, emphasizing inclusivity and the celebration of unique abilities. Some of the event’s highlights include the Sign Language Interpretative Song Contest, where learners demonstrated their creativity and inclusivity by interpreting songs through sign language, promoting accessibility for all.
Special Education (SPED) learners were able to exhibit their exceptional talents, emphasizing that everyone has something valuable to contribute, in the SPED Learners Got Talent.
Learners also joined together in a harmonious display of unity, celebrating their diverse backgrounds and abilities in the Unity Dance. To highlight the learners fashion creativity, DepEd Camiguin held the Search for the Best Barbie and Ken OOTD. This proves that individuality shines through personal style.
They also had the One Batang Taga-Isla Team Games, where teamwork and camaraderie were at the forefront as learners from the province engaged in friendly competition.
Dr. Lorebina Carrasco, DepEd Camiguin OIC Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, reflected on the journey of today’s learners. She acknowledged the challenges and changes that have shaped their learning experiences and praised their resilience.
“People nowadays have been through an entirely different journey given the changes and challenges in the way people learn and do things, and they were also exposed to a totally different learning landscape,” Carrasco noted.
She went on to emphasize the significance of the event, stating that it serves as a hallmark of the diverse talents among their learners. Carrasco celebrated the learners’ demonstration of resilience and their willingness to take on greater responsibilities.
“This event is just one of the many wonderful beginnings as we look ahead and beyond,” she added, expressing optimism for the future of education in Camiguin.
